Our role

The editorial research team maps each credential to its responsible regulator, inspects the official public-search workflow and documents the difference between a public lookup, a disciplinary-record search and formal license verification. The team name identifies a collaborative editorial function; it is not a fictional individual or a claim of government affiliation.

How a guide is researched

Researchers begin with state statutes and agency pages only when they help resolve a workflow question, then prioritize the current board, registry, compact and Nursys instructions that a visitor must actually use. Search fields, result labels, fees, stated processing times, contact details and credential boundaries are recorded with source-level provenance.

How a guide is reviewed

A guide is checked for correct agency ownership, destination URLs, credential coverage, safe interpretation of statuses, missing-record troubleshooting and the receiving organization's formal-verification requirements. The displayed review date represents a substantive manual check of the underlying facts, not an automated date change.

Limits of our review

The team provides navigation and explanatory research, not legal advice, employment screening or a determination that any person may practice. The responsible regulator's live record controls. Visitors can use the corrections process to report a changed portal or disputed fact.
