Trust and transparency
Editorial Policy
The standards governing accuracy, independence, language, updates and corrections on Nursing License Lookup.
Substantively reviewed 2026-08-13
Accuracy before volume
Coverage of all 50 states does not give us permission to manufacture detail. We publish the regulator, official starting point, credential boundary and compact posture supported by primary sources. Search fields, fees, timelines or status definitions appear only when the responsible service documents them or the live workflow has been inspected closely enough to support the statement.
Originality must add practical value
Original copy is not a synonym exercise. Each state page is led by a meaningful local distinction—agency ownership, terminology, compact transition or credential scope. Safety principles that should not vary are deliberately consistent. We will not make two equivalent legal processes sound different merely to create “unique content.”
Independence
NursingLicenseLookup.com is not affiliated with any government, board of nursing, NCSBN or Nursys. Official external links are labeled, and our branding is kept visually separate from government identity.
Language and safety
We describe what the official record displays and provide the regulator's source. We do not state that a person is safe, employable, authorized to practice or free of discipline based on our interpretation. Those judgments belong to the responsible agency and organizations applying current law and policy.
Individual privacy
We do not accept personal identifiers or create indexable pages for nurses, license numbers or disciplinary cases. Visitors should enter names, dates of birth, certificate numbers and Social Security numbers only on the responsible official system.
Commercial influence
No board, agency or verification provider pays for inclusion or placement in our guides. If commercial relationships are introduced later, paid links and sponsorships must be clearly disclosed and may not determine editorial conclusions.
Review dates have a specific meaning
A displayed date changes after a substantive examination of the underlying facts and links. A color change, typo fix or automated rebuild does not create a new review date. This keeps “freshness” from becoming decoration.
Corrections remain part of the evidence trail
Reports of broken links or inaccurate facts are checked against the current primary source. Confirmed material changes are made in the structured content, pass the same validation gates as new work and update the substantive review date. We direct disputes about an individual record to the agency that owns it.
