The public portal covers many health professions. Select Board of Nursing and Registered Nurse before entering identity details.
Search with one strong identifier
If you know the license number, enter the RN prefix and number without spaces, leading zeros or colons. Otherwise begin with last name and first name.
Broaden a failed search
Florida explicitly recommends using fewer fields to produce more results. Remove city, county, ZIP and status filters before concluding that no record exists.
Read the complete MQA record
Confirm the profession, license identity and current status. Follow any public disciplinary case or complaint information shown by the official record.
Check Nursys for multistate or endorsement needs
Florida's portal sends multistate RN/LPN verification to Nursys. Use QuickConfirm for public confirmation and the separate Nurse License Verification service when another board requires formal delivery.

- The search groups statuses such as Null and Void, Retired and Closed under non-practicing. Florida's renewal guidance says a Null and Void RN license cannot be reactivated and requires reapplication under current requirements.
- Deactivated
- Florida defines this compact-related label as a practitioner holding a multistate license in another NLC jurisdiction. Check the current multistate record in Nursys rather than assuming the nurse has no authority to practice in Florida.

Work through this checklist before drawing a conclusion

Florida's public MQA search is not the same as formal licensure verification. The Board directs RN and LPN requests to Nursys, with a mailed Florida MQA request as an alternative in its published FAQ.

$30 per license type, per board when checked
Florida identifies Nursys as the electronic licensure-verification route for RN and LPN. Inactive Florida records may not be available there.

The Board's FAQ provides a mail alternative and says its published processing estimate is approximately 10 days from receipt; confirm both fee and timing before sending.

Florida license results can identify public disciplinary cases
The Florida Board says the MQA License Verification service can show license status and whether disciplinary cases or public complaints exist. Historical or certified documents may require a separate public-records request.

Florida is an NLC state; the individual RN must still hold multistate authority
Florida joined the enhanced NLC on January 19, 2018. The Florida Board directs users to Nursys to look up an individual multistate license and explains that moving the primary state of residence can change which state issues that license.
